Hey guys, This is Arun aka TG and welcome back to GadgetGuruBN. Vivo launched the V23 Pro in India which is an entry level flagship android smartphone and are my honest thoughts about it.

1. Variants, Price, Colors and Release Date:

Variants: 8+128GB and 12+256GB.
Price: Rs.38,990 and Rs.43,990.
Colors: Sunshine Gold and Stardust Black.
Release Date: Available from 13/01/2022 on Flipkart.
Launch Offer: upto 10% off on prepaid / upto Rs.2500 additional exchange bonus.

3. Form Factor: [8.4/10]

Dimensions: 159.46 x 73.27 x 7.36 mm. and Weight: 171 g.
Build materials: Schott Xensation alpha glass on front and glass back along with poly-carbonate frame which should provide great build quality. 

4. Display: [8.6/10]

The 6.56 inch 1920 x 2376 pixels FHD+ resolution AMOLED display that should offer excellent quality.
The display panel also supports 90 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate, 8-Bit / 16 million colors, 398 ppi sharpness, 1300 nits of peak brightness and 20:9 aspect ratio.

5. Performance: [8.7/10]

The overall performance should be excellent as it features,
SOC: Mediatek Dimensity 1200 and Technology: 6nm.
CPU: Octa-core consisting of 1 x 3.0 Ghz Cortex-A78, 3 x 2.6 Ghz Cortex-A78 & 4 x 2.0 Ghz Cortex-A55.
GPU: Mali-G77 MC9.
Software: Android OS 12 with Funtouch 12 interface.
Memory : 8/12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It also supports virtual RAM upto 4GB.
ROM: 128/256GB of UFS Storage.

6. Camera: [8.5/10]

The device comes with triple rear cameras and dual front camera. The overall rear camera quality should be excellent [9/10] in day, pretty good in night [7/10] and the front camera quality should be excellent overall as it features [camera features: 0.5/0.6],
Main: 108MP with f/1.88 aperture, 1/1.52" sensor size, 0.7 micron pixel, 26mm wide lens & PDAF.
Ultrawide: 8MP with f/2.2 aperture, 1/4.0" sensor size, 1.12 micron pixel, 16mm ultrawide lens with 120 degree FOV.
Macro: 2MP with f/2.4 aperture.
Flash: Dual-LED flash on front [with dual-tone] and back.
Video recording: 4K@30/60fps & 1080p@30/60fps with gyro-EIS support.
Features: Multi style portrait, HDR video recording on both cameras, Bokeh flare portrait mode, Night mode, Dual view, Auto HDR and more. 
Front: 50MP with f/2.0 aperture & AF.
Front ultrawide: 8MP with f/2.28 aperture, 105 degree FOV.
Video: 4K@30/60fps & 1080p@30/60fps .

The device comes with excellent features that are listed as follows,
Important Sensors: Fingerprint [under display], Gyroscope & more.
Connectivity: Dual-band WiFi [2.4/5 GHz], Bluetooth 5.2 [A2DP, LE], USB Type-C, GPS [Single-band GPS L1, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, NavIC] and dedicated dual-SIM [nano + nano SIM, dual 5G, 4G, VoLTE, VoWiFi] and micro SD slot.
Audio: Single speaker. It also supports High-Res audio.
Other features: Color changing back panel when exposed to sunlight [sunshine gold color].

8. Battery Life: [8.2/10]

The overall battery life should be great as it features,
Battery capacity: Li-Po 4300 mAh.
Charging speed: 44W wired.

Battery Life Stats:

Screen On Time [ SOT ]: Up to 7:15 hrs average.
Battery Life: Up to 1.5 days average.

10. Verdict:

After considering the pros, cons and ratings the Vivo V23 Pro is a great smartphone at a very good price.
So is this the color changing and ideal entry level flagship smartphone?, The color changing looks premium and overall its a pretty great entry level flagship smartphone which is priced slightly on the premium side.
