ASUS ZENFONE GO REVIEW


Asus launched its budget android smartphone namely Zenfone Go (Dual-Sim) in India which is priced @ 7,999/- sold via Flipkart. It is available is Black, White & Red shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY
The design of this phone is pretty good. It has scratch resistant glass with front and a matte plastic on the back and feels pretty good in hands. It is slim at 10mm and weighs 135ms. It has 5 inch IPS LCD display of HD resolution 720 x 1280 with 294ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is quite good. It runs on Zen User Interface. The display supports 5 multi-touch points and the brightness of the screen is pretty good.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES
It has 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 64GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like google play music for songs and a stock gallery and a video player which are good. FM radio comes pre-installed too. Connectivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 42.2mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi hotspot as well as Bluetooth 4.0 but lacks USB OTG support.

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 8 MP rear camera with autofocus & LED flash which features Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc. The camera clarity is above pretty good overall. Daytime the images are pretty good and has fine details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become more visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images still image quality at night is average. It does Full HD 1080p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bit-rate of 16-18 mbps and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is pretty good overall. Daytime the video clarity is pretty good and has fine details respectively but at night video clarity is average. It has a 2 MP front facing camera with no video recording and clarity is average.

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, PERFORMANCE & BENCHMARKS
It runs on Android (OS) 5.1 Lollipop of the box. It has an MediaTek (MT6580) SOC (System On Chip) running a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3 GHZ (ARM Cortex-A7 Architecture) with 2GB RAM and Mali 400MP (Single-Core) GPU. The performance is Pretty Good which provides number of graphic intensive games and multitasking run well enough and there is no major lag at most cases.
