DESIGN & BUILD
Design of both looks overall very good and similar (Redmi with black variant offers slightly better looks). Build quality is pretty good on K5 note which comes with metal rear panel but Redmi note 4 offers greater build thanks to metal unibody.
DISPLAY
When we talk about display in this comparison the duo come equip with 1080p panel, But none come with corning gorilla glass. Speaking about clarity all the panel offers great clarity overall might be slight edge on Redmi note 4 being ever so slightly better but anyone you pick in general you shouldn't be disappointed.
STORAGE, RAM & FEATURES
Here in comparison the devices offers variety in storage and ram options and supports hybrid (Dual Sim/Sim+MicroSD). In general for medium users storage & ram options is not an issue but for heavy users you might want to pick the right variant before you consider anyone one of them.
Especially if you are sort of medium to Heavy user you should go with 4GB RAM on Redmi note 4 as the RAM management is on poor side. Other way round Lenovo K5 note Doesn't come with any RAM management issues which is great in my opinion.
Apart from this all offer great set of features where Redmi note 4 offers IR blaster but Lenovo doesn't have IR blaster nor Duo support NFC but K5 note comes with Theater max & Dolby Atmos which is great.
CAMERA & VIDEO CLARITY
When we talk about camera features here Lenovo does great job in comparison to Xiaomi, but when we talk about clarity the performance is Great on K5 note & very good on Redmi note 4, so in comparison to K5 note is clearly ahead in my opinion. Similar performance in video recording clarity & the video stabilization as well. So in general K5 note has better overall camera performance.
Also none of the device over heat but K5 note does get slightly warmer than Redmi note 4 which shouldn't be a deal breaker.
SOFTWARE, HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE
On the software both run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and speaking of updates Redmi Note might get 7.0 Nougat (Depends on Manufacturer) but only time will tell, On the other hand K5 note is stuck On Marshmallow, If you want stock android like experience K5 note is the device you might want to look out or Mi UI on Redmi note 4 does offer slightly better features in certain areas its not a deal breaker but consumes lot of RAM. Talking about raw hardware Redmi note 4 is much better than K5 note but many tend forget is the end user performance and how the software is optimized. Now talking about the performance duo offer great to excellent day to day performance but the optimization on the Lenovo is excellent & very good Redmi. So Lenovo has clear edge. But for heavy gaming Clearly Redmi note 4 does better than K5 note not very huge difference still K5 note does good rendering in high settings where as its even smoother in Redmi note 4, but casual to medium gaming both to very good.
talking about heating issue here K5 note gets slightly warmer than Redmi note 4 but both doesn't have any overheating issue which is very good.
BATTERY LIFE
Finally when we talk about battery life, The duo offer overall very good overall battery life. On K5 note the battery life is pretty good and Redmi note 4 has great battery life. Both come with built-in power saving modes but does not feature any sort of fast charging.

Well, If Great Camera, Stock like UI, Excellent Audio Quality, Better RAM management is your highest priority then Lenovo Vibe K5 Note makes more sense.
