Microsoft launched its lower midrange windows phone namely Lumia 640 XL (Dual-Sim) in India which are priced @ 15,799/-. It is available is Black, Orange, Cyan & White shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY

The design of this phone is good. It has Corning gorilla glass 3 front and a plastic back (some come with matte finish) and feels good in hands. It is slim at 9mm and weighs 171gms. It has 5.7 inch HD IPS LCD display of resolution 720X1280 with 259ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is very good. It runs on windows tile based User Interface. The brightness of the screen is very good and also has nokia's clear black technology.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES

It has 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 128GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like google play music for songs and a stock gallery and a video player which are good. FM radio comes pre-installed. Connectivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 21.1mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi direct, Wifi hotsopt as well as Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy).

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES

It has a 13MP rear camera 1/3 inch sensor (Carl Zeiss Optics) with autofocus which features such as Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc. The camera clarity is Excellentoverall. Daytime the images are very good and has fine details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become more visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images still image quality at night is pretty good. It does Full HD 1080p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bit-rate of 16 mbps and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is quite good overall. Daytime the video clarity is pretty good and has fine details respectively but at night video clarity is pretty good. It has a 5MP front camera for selfe's which does 1080p video recording clarity is pretty good. 

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE

It runs Microsoft Windows phone 8.1(OS) with Lumia Denim out of the box. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) SOC (System On Chip) running a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.2 GHZ (ARM Cortex-A7 Architecture) with 1GB RAM and Adreno 305 (450MHZ Single-Core) GPU. The performance is very good which provides quite a few number of graphic intensive games and multitasking run quite well and there is no major lag at all.

BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE

It has a removable Li-Ion 3000 Mah battery. The battery life is Excellent which is given below.
