HUAWEI HONOR 4X REVIEW

Huawei launched its budget midrange android smartphone namely Honor 4X in India which is priced @ 9,999/- sold via Flipkart. It is available in Black and White shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY

The design of this phone is Good. It has a corning gorilla glass 3 on front and plastic back and feels pretty good in hands. It is slim at 8.7mm and weighs 165gms. It has 5.5 inch HD IPS LCD display of resolution 720 x 1280 with 267 ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is very good. It runs on Emlotion 3.0 User Interface. The display supports 10 multi-touch points and the brightness of the screen is very good.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITYS

It has 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 32GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps such as camera app stores all your images and has built video player as well as music player which stores and plays respectively which are very good. FM radio comes pre-installed too. Connectivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 42.2mbps download & 5.76mbps upload, 4G speeds upto 150mbps download & 50mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi Dual-band, Wifi hotsopt, USB OTG as well as Bluetooth 4.0.

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES

It has a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash which features Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc. The camera clarity is very good overall. Daytime the images are Great and has fine details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become more visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images and clarity is quite good. It does FULL HD 1080p@30fps HDR video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bit-rate of 16-17 mbps and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is very good overall. Daytime the video clarity is Very good and has fine details respectively but at night video clarity is acceptable could have been better. It also has a 5MP front camera for selfe's which does 720p video and clarity is very good.

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, PERFORMANCE & BENCHMARKS

It runs Android (OS) 4.4.4 Kitkat out of the box with planned lollipop 5.0 upgrade. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) 64-Bit SOC (System On Chip) running an Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.2GHZ (ARM Cortex-A53 Architecture) with 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 (500 MHZ single Core) GPU. The performance is Very good which provides number of graphic intensive games and multitasking run very well and there is no lag at all.
