SAMSUNG GALAXY J1 REVIEW


Samsung launched its budget android smartphone namely Galaxy J1 (Dual Micro Sim) which is priced @ 7,999/-. It is available is Black, White & Blue shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY
The design of this phone is quite good. It has scratch resistant glass on front and plastic matte finish back and feels good in hands. It is slim at 8.9mm and weighs 122gms. It has 4.3inch LCD display of resolution 480 x 800 with 217ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is quite good. It runs on Touch Wiz User Interface. The display supports 5 multi-touch points and the brightness of the screen is good too.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES
It has 4GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 32GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like music for songs, a gallery to store all images and videos and a movie player for playing movies respectively which are quite good. FM radio comes pre-installed. Connectivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 21.1mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi direct, Wifi hotsopt as well as Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) are standard. But lacks USB OTG support.  

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and Led flash which features Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc and other modes as well. The camera clarity is Good overall. Daytime the images are good and has good amount of details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become bit visible visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images still image quality at night is quite nice. It does HD 720p@30fps video recording with stereo sound having bit-rate of 9mbps respectively and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is good overall. Daytime the video clarity is Good and has good amount of details respectively but at night video clarity is above average could have been better. It also has a 2MP front camera for selfe's with 480p video recording and clarity is just fine.

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, PERFORMANCE & BENCHMARKS
It runs Android (OS) 4.4.4 Kitkat out of the box. It has a Spreadtrum (SC7727S) SOC (System On Chip) running a Dual-Core processor clocked at 1.2 GHZ (ARM Cortex-A7 Architecture) with 512MB RAM and Mali 400MP GPU (Single Core) GPU. The performance is just fine but RAM limits number games and multitasking but general performance is quite nice.

BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE
It has a Removable Li-Ion 1850 mah battery. The battery life is Pretty good which is given below.
