SAMSUNG Z1 REVIEW

Samsung launched its new Tizen based smartphone namely Z1 (Dual sim) which is priced @ 5,700/-. It is available is Black, White & Red shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY

The design of this phone is pretty good. It has scratch resistant glass on front and plastic back which feels quite good in hands. It is slim at 9.7mm and weighs 112gms. It has 4 inch WVGA PLS LCD display of resolution 480 x 800 with 233ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is great. It runs on Custom User Interface. The display supports 2 multi-touch points and the brightness of the screen is very good.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITYS

It has 4GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 64GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like music for songs, a gallery to store all images and videos and a movie player for playing movies respectively which are quite good. FM radio comes pre-installed. Conductivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 21.1mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi direct, Wifi hotsopt as well as Bluetooth 4.1. But lacks USB OTG support. 

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES

It has a 3.2MP rear camera with fixed focus and Led flash which features Geo-tagging etc. The camera clarity is average overall. Day time clarity quite good and at night time slightly above average. It does VGA 480p video recording with stereo sound having bit-rate of 4mbps respectively and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is average overall. Daytime the video clarity is quite good and at night video clarity is average. It also has a VGA front camera.

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, PERFORMANCE

It runs Tizen (OS) 2.3 which is new. It has a Spreadtrum (SC7727S) SOC (System On Chip) running a Dual-Core processor clocked at 1.2 GHZ (ARM Cortex-A7 Architecture) with 768MB RAM and Mali 400MP GPU (single core) GPU. The performance is very good which provides quite number games and multitasking run very well and there is no major lag all but more games are yet to come, as of now very limited due to the fact that this is a new OS.

BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE

It has a Removable Li-Ion 1500 mah battery. The battery life is Pretty Good which is given below.

VIDEO WATCHING: upto 6:45H.

TALKTIME : upto 14H(2G) / upto 12H(3G).

STANDBY TIME: upto 430H(2G) / upto 410H(3G).
