MICROSOFT LUMIA 535 REVIEW


Microsoft launched its first windows phone revised from brand Nokia namely Lumia 535 in India which is priced @ 9,199/-. It is available is Black, Orange, Grey, Blue & White shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY
The design of this phone is good. It has corning gorilla glass 3 on front and a plastic back and feels good in hands. It is slim at 8.8mm and weighs 146gms. It has 5 inch qHD IPS LCD display of resolution 540 x 960 with 220 ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is quite good. It runs on windows tile based User Interface. The brightness of the screen is pretty good.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES
It has 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 128GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like google play music for songs and a stock gallery and a video player which are good. FM radio comes pre-installed. Connectivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 21.1mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi direct, Wifi hotsopt as well as Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy).

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 5MP rear camera 1/4 inch sensor with autofocus which features such as Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc. The camera clarity is quite good overall. Daytime the images are pretty good and has fine details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become more visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images still image quality at night is pretty acceptable could have been bit better. It does 480p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bit-rate of 6.5 mbps and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is quite good overall. Daytime the video clarity is pretty good and has fine details respectively but at night video clarity is pretty acceptable could have been bit better. It has a 5MP front camera for selfe's which does 480p video recording clarity is pretty nice. 

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE
It runs Microsoft Windows phone 8.1(OS) out of the box. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8210) SOC (System On Chip) running a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.2 GHZ (Cortex-A7) with 1GB RAM and Adreno 302 (400MHZ single core) GPU. The performance is pretty good which provides number of graphic intensive games and multitasking run quite well and there is no major lag at all.

BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE
It has a removable Li-Ion 1905 Mah battery. The battery life is above average which is given below.

VIDEO WATCHING: upto 5:40H.
TALKTIME : upto 14:30H(2G) / upto 12:30H(3G).
STANDBY TIME: upto 400H(2G) / upto 380H(3G).

*App catalogue is still quite less in comparison to android.
*No 720p video recording only limited to 480p.
*Battery life could have been better. 
*Display is bit reflective.
