NOKIA LUMIA 830 REVIEW

Nokia launched its midrange windows phone namely Lumia 830 in India which is priced @ 28,499/-. It is available is Black, White, Green & Orange.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY

The design of this phone is good. It has corning gorilla glass 3 on front and a polycarbonate back and feels good in hands. It is slim at 8.5mm and weighs 150gms. It has 5 HD IPS LCD display of resolution 720 x 1280 with 294ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is great. It runs on windows tile based User Interface. The brightness of the screen is great. It also has Nokia's clear black display technology which is good.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITYS

It has 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 128GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like google play music for songs and a stock gallery and a video player which are good. FM radio comes pre-installed. Connectivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 42.2mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi Dual-band, Wifi a/b/g/n, Wifi direct, Wifi hotsopt as well as Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) but also has NFC 

CAMERA VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES

It has a 10MP optically stabilised rear camera 1/3.4 inch sensor & Carl Ziess optis with autofocus and Led flash which features Simultaneous image and video recording, Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc. The camera clarity is great overall. Daytime the images are great and has fine details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become more visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images still image quality at night is quite good. It does FULL HD 1080p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound but lacks HDR having bit-rate of 16mbps and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is great overall. Daytime the video clarity is great and has fine details respectively but at night video clarity is quite good. It has a 0.9MP front facing camera for selfe's which does 720p and clarity is quite nice. 

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE

It runs Microsoft Windows phone 8.1(OS) out of the box. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) processor running a quad core 1.2 GHZ (Cortex-A7) with 1GB RAM and Adreno 305 (450MHZ single core) GPU. The performance is great which provides number of graphic intensive games and multitasking run pretty well and there is no lag at all.

BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE

It has a removable Li-Ion 2200 mah battery. The battery life is very good which is given below.
