Asus launched its midrange android smartphone namely Zenfone 5 (dual sim) in India which is priced @ 9,999/- for 8GB & 12499/- for 16GB sold via Flipkart. It is available is Black, White, Red & Gold shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY
The design of this phone is good. It has corning glass 3 on front and a matte plastic on the back and feels great in hands. It is slim at 10.3mm and weighs 145gms. It has 5 inch IPS LCD display of  HD resolution 1280 x 720 with 294 ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the display is very good. It runs on Zen User Interface. The display supports 5 multi-touch points and the brightness of the screen is Very good.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITYS
It has 8GB/16GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 32GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps like google play music for songs and a stock gallery and a video player which are good. FM radio comes pre-installed too. Conductivities like 2G, 3G speeds upto 42.2mbps download & upto 5.76mbps upload, Wifi b/g/n, Wifi hotspot as well as Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) also has USB OTG too.

CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 8MP rear camera with autofocus which features Simultaneous image and video recording, Geo-tagging, Touch focus, Image stabilization, HDR etc. The camera clarity is very good overall. Daytime the images are very good and has fine details respectively but in the night is where the noise starts to become more visible and to get better details at night HDR mode images with bit of steady hands helps to produce slightly better images still image quality at night is pretty fine. It does Full HD 1080p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bit-rate of 16-18 mbps and stores in mp4 format. The video recording clarity is very good overall. Daytime the video clarity is good and has fine details respectively but at night video clarity is Pretty fine. It has a 2MP front facing camera.

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, PERFORMANCE & BENCHMARKS
It runs Android (OS) 4.3 Jellybean out of the box upgradable to kitkat 4.4.2 with planned lollipop 5.0 update. It has an Intel Atom (Z2520) processor (with hyper threading enabled) running a dual core at 2 GHZ (Cortex A7 architecture) with 1 GB RAM and PowerVR SGX544MP2 (400MHZ dual core) GPU. The performance is Great which provides number of graphic intensive games and multitasking run well enough and there is no lag at all.

It has a non removable 2110 mah battery. The battery life is just above average which is given below.
