SONY XPERIA Z1 REVIEW

   

Sony launched its another flagship smartphone in India namely Xperia Z1 which is priced @ 42990. It is available in Black, White and Purple shades.

DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY

The desigh is very good and feels premium. It has a scratch resistant and shatter proof durable tempered glass on both sides and an alluminium frame structure making it durable. It is slim at 8.5mm and weighs 170gms. It is also IP58 certified meaning dust proof and water resistant for 5 feet and 30 minutes. It has a 5 inch 16M FULL HD LCD capacitive touchscreen which features Triluminous display & X-Reality engine with 441ppi. It has Opti-contrast panel. viewing angles and sunlight legibility are pretty good. It uses latest Timescape User Interface.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITYS

It has a 16 GB internal storage and is expandable upto 64 GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps which are very good. It has clear audio technologies and X-loud sound enhancements. On-board connectivitie's such as 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE), WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS & GLONASS, NFC and USB & USB OTG support are standard. It also includes Sony’s unique one touch functions that takes place with help of NFC. But lacks IR(Infrared) Port.

CAMERA AND VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 20.7 MP Rear camera (1/2.3 inch sensor size) with autofocus & LED flash with Sony's G LENS & BIONZ image processor which features Superior auto mode(optimises right settings at right time),Simultaneous HD video and image recording, Time-Shift burst mode (snaps 61 images in 2 seconds and starts before u hit the shutter key), Geo-tagging, AR (Argument Reality) effects, Image stabilization, Sweep panorama, HDR etc. The camera clarity is Excellent. It does FULL HD 1080p@30fps HDR video recording with video stabilization & stereo sound having bit-rate of 19 Mbps in MP4 files. The video recording clarity is Excellent. It has a 2.2 MP Front camera which does FULL HD 1080p@30fps.

It runs on Android(OS) 4.2.2 jelly bean out of the box with a planned upgrade to 4.4 KitKat. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor running a quad core at 2.2 GHZ with 2 GB RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU. The performance is Top class which provides high graphic intensive games and multitasking run smoothly and there is no lag at all. It is also PlayStation certified.
