Sony launched its mid-range android smartphone namely Xperia L in India which is priced @ 17,990. It is available is Black, White and Red shades.
DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY
The design is an arc back and is very good and comfortable. It has a scratch resistant glass on front and a plastic matte finish on the back making it quite durable. It is slim at 9.7mm and weighs 137gms. It has a 4.3 inch 16M LCD capacitive touchscreen of 480X854 (FWVGA) resolution with 228ppi. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility is good.
STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES
The device comes with a 8GB internal storage and is further expandable upto 32GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps which are very good. It has clear audio technologies and X-loud sound enhancements. On-board connectives such as 2G, 3G, WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS & GLONASS and USB are standard. It also has Sony's unique one touch functions that takes place with NFC.
CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 8 MP Rear camera with autofocus & LED flash which features Geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR etc. The camera clarity is very good. It does HD 720p@30fps HDR video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bite-rate of 10-12 Mbps in MP4 format. The video recording clarity is very good. It has a VGA Front camera.

It runs on Android (OS) 4.1.2 jelly bean out of the box. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus (MSM8230) processor running a dual core at 1 GHZ with 1 GB RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU. The performance is very good which provides high graphic intensive games and multitasking run smoothly and there is no lag at all. It is also PlayStation certified.
