SAMSUNG GALAXY GRAND DUOS REVIEW

Samsung launched a mid range android smartphone namely galaxy grand duos in India which is priced @ 21990/-. It is avaliable in Black and White shades.

DESIGN, BUILD  QUALITY & DISPLAY

The design is good which is identical to Samsung galaxy S3. It uses a scratch resistant glass on front and a plastic matte finish on the back making it durable enough. It is slim at 9.6mm and weighs 162gms. It has a 5 inch 16M  LCD capacitive touchscreen of 480x800 (WVGA) resolution with 187ppi. Viewing angles are ok and sunlight legibility could have been better. It uses Touch Wiz 5.0 User Interface.

STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES

It has a 8GB internal storage and is expandable upto 64GB. The device features dedicated multimedia apps which are good. On-board connectvities such as 2G, 3G, WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS & GLONASS support,  NFC and USB are standard.

CAMERA AND VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES

It has a 8 MP Rear camera with autofocus & led flash which features such as Geo-tagging,  touch focus,  face detection etc lacking HDR. The camera clarity is good. It does Full HD 1080p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and stereo sound having bite-rate of 14-16 Mbps and stores in MP4 format. The video recording clarity is good. It has a 2 MP Front camera which does 480p if not HD 720p@30fps video recording.

SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, PERFORMANCE & BENCHMARKS

It runs Android (OS) 4.1.2  jelly bean out of the box. It has a Broadcom (BC28155) processor running a dual core at 1.2GHZ with 1 GB RAM and a Broadcom Videocore IV GPU. Performance is good which supports high graphic intensive games and multitasking run smooth enough and there is a bit lag at rare conditions.

BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE

It has a non-removable  Li-Ion 2100 MAH Battery. The battery life is good which is given below.
