Apple launched its latest IPad namely IPad mini (wifi+cellular) in India which is priced @ 29900/-. It is available in Black/Slate and White/Silver shades.
DESIGN, BUILD QUALITY & DISPLAY
The design is very neat and simple. It uses scratch resistant glass with finger print resistant coating on front and matte finish back making it durable. It is slim at 7.2mm and weighs 308gms. It has a 7.9 inch 16M LED backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of 768 x 1024 (WXGA) resolution with 162ppi. The viewing angles and the sunlight legibility is good.
STORAGE, MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTIVITIES
It has a 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage options and is not further expandable. The device features dedicated multimedia apps which are good. On-board connectivities such as 2G, 3G, 4G, WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0 (file sharing from apple to apple only) and USB 2.0, GPS & GLONASS come standard but lacks NFC.
CAMERA & VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
It has a 5 MP Rear camera which features geo-tagging, touch focus, image stabilization etc. The camera clarity is good. It does FULL HD 1080p@30fps video recording with video stabilization and mono sound having bite-rate of 16-18 Mbps in MP4 format . The video recording clarity is good. It has a 1.2 MP Front camera which does 720p@30fps video recording.
HARDWARE, SOFTWARE & PERFORMANCE
It runs on IOS 6 and is upgradable to 6.1.3. It has an Apple A5 processor running a dual core at 1 GHZ with 512 MB RAM and a Power VR SGX 543MP2 (dual-core) GPU. The performance is very good and provides high graphic intensive games and multitasking run smoothly and there is no lag at all.
BATTERY LIFE PERFORMANCE
It is powered by a non-removable Li-Pro 16.3 watt battery which good. The battery life is good by providing upto 11 H of multimedia.
